Günther Oettinger (66) is a former Minister President of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg, a hub of auto making. So he is very well versed in the issues facing the automobile industry. As the outgoing European Commissioner for Budgets and Human Resources as well as the former Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, he is also very well acquainted with politics in Brussels. He is a member of the Commission that markedly raised the limit values for the fuel consumption of the car makers'fleets. In the Commission, he was considered to be the counterweight to those who had very strict plans. His departure from the post is scheduled for the end of October. But this exceptional politician has no intention of retiring. On November 6, Günther Oettinger will deliver the dinner speech at the Automobilwoche Kongress.
