You can't miss Thomas Ingenlath. The CEO of the high-end electric car brand Polestar allows himself the luxury of having very personal style. For example, his favourite suit colour is curry. As the official head designer of Volvo cars, he can get away with it. He has been at this post since 2012, but in 2017, the now 55-year-old Ingenlath has also headed Polestar, an electric car manufacturer owned by Geely, a Chinese company. In the meantime, this job has become something of a passion. He has very cleverly presented the new brand as an electric Bauhaus. Ingenlath is as effective a strategist as he is a designer. He knows which customer likes which car and why. The young brand of electric cars intends to dethrone pioneer Tesla. Prior to working with Volvo in Göteborg, Ingenlath headed the Volkswagen design centre. And prior to that, he held senior positions at Audi and Skoda. Ingenlath studied at Fachhochschule für Gestaltung (University of Design) in Pforzheim, Germany, and the Royal College of Art in London.
